Cooking Times For Rare Medium And Well

T-Bone Steak 1½-inch thick Low Rack:
Rare: 26-30 minutes
Medium: 36-38 minutes
Well: 42-44 minutes

Sirloin Steak 1-inch thick Low Rack:

Rare: 18-20 minutes
Medium: 22 minutes
Well: 24 minutes

Chuck Steak 1-inch thick Low Rack:
Rare: 18-22 minutes
Medium: 24-26 minutes
Well: 24-26 minutes

Boneless Top Round Steak 1-inch thick Low Rack:
Rare: 30-34 minutes
Medium: 36 minutes
Well: 38-40 minutes

Flank Steak 1¼ pounds Low Rack:
Rare: 20-22 minutes
Medium: 24-26 minutes
Well: Not advised

Hamburgers ½-inch thick Low Rack:
Rare: 12-14 minutes
Medium: 14-16 minutes
Well: 16-18 minutes

Hot Dogs High Rack:
10-12 minutes

Liver ½-inch Low Rack:
Medium: 4-6 minutes Brush with melted butter

Note: Broiling is cooking by direct heat; it is usually reserved for the tenderest cuts of meat.  The temperatures listed are for meats taken from the refrigerator.  Turn meat over several times while broiling until done on both sides.
